Communication Studies Faculty to speak at the 25th Annual Conference of the SLSA (Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts)
Sep 16/11
| Contact: | Dr. Ghislain Thibault |
Dr. Penelope Ironstone Catterall, Dr. Judith Nicholson and Dr. Ghislain Thibault are attending this year's annual meeting of the Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts which convenes in Kitchener. The theme for 2011 is "PHARMAKON," that which can both kill and cure. From Socrates’ hemlock to nuclear radiation, the pharmakon offers an opportunity to explore the concept of indeterminacy as it applies to a number of research topics. This is organized in part by the SLSA and the Critical Media Lab, University of Waterloo. The Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts welcomes colleagues in the sciences, engineering, technology, computer science, medicine, the social sciences, the humanities, the arts, and independent scholars and artists. SLSA members share an interest in problems of science and representation, and in the cultural and social dimensions of science, technology, and medicine.
