Dr. Greig de Peuter receives labour reporting award from Canadian Association of Journalists

May 7/13

Greig de Peuter, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, was a recipient of the 2012 Award for Labour Reporting from the Canadian Association of Journalists for an article he wrote with Nicole Cohen and Enda Brophy. The article, "Interns, Unite! You Have Nothing to Lose--Literally," was published by Briarpatch Magazine. Nominees in the labour reporting category included Adrienne Arsenault and Lysanne Louter of CBC's The National and Kathryn May of Ottawa Citizen. "Interns, Unite!," which can be read here, draws from the authors' ongoing SSHRC-funded research on collective responses to precarious work in creative industries.
