Laurierís full-time MBA program starts its 25th year this summer
The Laurier School of Business & Economics will welcome another 100 new MBA students this summer for the next intake of the one-year, full-time MBA degree program.
Laurierís full-time MBA was launched in 1986. It was the first full-time accelerated MBA program of its kind in the country. Students are able to complete the degree in just one year and get back to the workforce. While accelerated to be completed in 12 months, there are no short cuts in the content. Students study the full 20-credit MBA program, which includes integrated core courses, 10 electives, with or without a specialization, and the Applied Business Research Project, which gives students real-life experience. Students will work on a real-life strategic management issue for an existing company during the program.
The year 2011, which marks the universityís centennial, also marks the 35th year of Laurierís part-time evening MBA in Waterloo. Six years ago, Laurier added the MBA with co-op option. This format allows students with little or no business work experience the opportunity to complete the degree and obtain relevant experience at the same time.
