Laurier Library's seventh floor now "silent"
Apr 7/11
A notice on behalf of the Laurier Library
We have frequently heard from our users, at our desks and through library surveys, about the need for quiet study space. In response, starting April 7, the Library will designate the whole of its seventh floor for Silent Study. In addition to no talking, "silent" means quiet keyboarding, cellphone use in the stairwell only, and muted audio devices.
Silent Study has been successfully implemented at many academic libraries in Canada and the United States. Laurier Library's initiative will be on a trial basis, and if successful will be established year-round.
