Hiring Student Employees

REGARDING STUDENT EMPLOYEES:

Student employees are an important part of the Laurier culture. When hiring students, managers must ensure that the employment term is only until the final year's course work is completed (not convocation).

The University and WLUSA recently reached agreement that all persons registered as graduate or undergraduate students of the University would be exempt from the WLUSA bargaining unit. Student employees performing office, clerical or technical work who have completed their final year's course work will be subject to inclusion in the WLUSA bargaining unit and the rules and regulations governing that collective agreement.

Please contact Human Resources, if you have questions.
