HRHD Alumnus to Pursue Doctoral Studies at Princeton

Apr 29/13

Human Rights & Human Diversity Alumnus Elizabeth Baisley will be starting her doctoral studies at Princeton University in New Jersey this fall.

Since graduating from Laurier Brantford with an Honours degree in HRHD, Elizabeth has been working on her M.A. in Political Studies at Queen's University in Kingston.

When she begins her Ph.D. in Princeton's Department of Politics, she intends to pursue her research interests in the rights of marginalized populations, human rights social movements, and the diffusion of international norms. She has proposed doing systematic, comparative research to begin to understand significant cross-country variations in Africa in attitudes and policies toward sexual minorities.

The Human Rights & Human Diversity program wishes Elizabeth continued success with her studies.
