2012 United Way Campaign

Oct 9/12

October, 2012

Dear Members of the Laurier Community:

Laurier has long been recognized for our strong internal sense of community. We have a proud history of playing important roles in the communities in which we reside. Our support of the United Way is just one example of how we are able to make a meaningful and lasting impact. Today I invite you to support our 2012 United Way Campaign.

Brant United Way and United Way KW are committed to making positive, long-term sustainable change that targets the root of issues that happen. Funds given through United Way are invested in the communities where we live, work, learn and play. This year the Brant United Way campaign goal for 2012 is $1,625,000 and in KW the goal is $5,000,000. Your donation in support of Laurier’s campus campaign will help ensure that vital programs and services will continue to be provided in our communities.

A convenient way to donate is through payroll deduction. Five or ten dollars deducted each pay period (less than the price of a cup of coffee a day) would make a significant contribution and is a charitable donation for tax purposes. You may also donate with a cheque, cash, pre-authorized chequing, credit card, or by post-dated cheques. If you wish to make a gift to the United Way, please return your pledge form to Janice Vilaca for the Brantford campus or to Wally Pirker for the Kitchener, Toronto and Waterloo sites. To facilitate processing of your United Way gift, please provide your Laurier ID number in the space indicated on the form. To be eligible for the “early-bird” draws, send your donation by October 22nd. Details on the early-bird draw will be posted on Laurier’s website.

Be creative and challenge your colleagues to new and innovative ways to raise awareness about the United Way and funds. For example, why not implement a toonie denim day in your department for the month of October as an easy way of raising funds?

I thank you for your support of the United Way. Together we can be part of the change happening in our communities.

Your United Way Campaign Chair,

Deb MacLatchy
