WATERLOO — The Laurier School of Business & Economics (SBE) is
introducing a new Master of Science in Management with a concentration in
organizational behaviour and human resources management to its graduate studies
curriculum. Upon successful completion of this MSc degree, students will be
ready to step into a research-based career or qualify for Laurier’s doctoral
program with the ultimate goal of a career in academics or industry.
“This is the third new research-based master’s program we have
introduced in the last four months,” said Ginny Dybenko, Laurier’s dean of
business and economics. “We remain committed to growing our research
capabilities with new programs, research centres, funding and faculty.”
Set to begin in September 2008, the new 12-month MSc
program provides students with a firm grounding in research methods, design, and
quantitative analysis, as well as theory and research in the broad areas of
organizational behaviour and human resource management.
“This MSc
program is challenging,” said Hamid Noori, a professor and director of PhD
and master’s programs at Laurier SBE. “Applicants must have a GMAT score
of 650 to get in; the course content, lecture materials and major research
paper really put students to the test. Once they graduate they are ready to face
the challenges of their professional world.”
