Astronomy Course Changes
NOTE: AS101 must be taken before AS102.
For the 2009/2010 academic year, only AS101 Astronomy I: Our Place in the Cosmos will be offered as an in-class course. AS101 will be offered in Fall 2009.
Once the course is full, it is full. There is no waiting list. Students can check LORIS to see if spots open up. A few spots typically open up in late August or early September.
We are currently redeveloping AS105* (online two term course) to split it into two parts to match our current AS101 and AS102 courses. This would allow students to mix the online and the in-class offerings, e.g. take AS101 in-class and follow with AS102 online.
If course development proceeds according to schedule, we hope to offer AS102 Astronomy II : Journey Through the Cosmos as an online course in Winter 2010. It is also possible that we will repeat AS101 Astronomy I: Our Place in the Cosmos as an online course in Winter 2010.
Check LORIS or the Online Learning site in the fall for availability.
We expect to offer both AS101 Astronomy I: Our Place in the Cosmos and AS102 Astronomy II : Journey Through the Cosmos in the summer as online courses. AS101 would be offered in intersession May 2010 to June 2010; AS102 would be offered in summer session July 2010 to August 2010.
Check LORIS or the Online Learning site in the fall or winter for availability.
