2007 Our Community, Our Laurier campaign kickoff a big success
May 24/07
Laurier faculty, staff and retirees enjoyed a barbecue Wednesday to
celebrate the success of the 2006 Our Community, Our Laurier campaign and to
launch this year’s campaign.
The barbecue, hosted by Dr. Rosehart and the 2007 Campaign Co-Chairs,
was held in the Quad, where 622 people enjoyed the sunny weather and the
festivities. There were hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, refreshments and cake for
everyone, with leftovers donated to the local House of Friendship.
“The staff and faculty of Laurier are a fantastic group of people who
really are passionate about this institution and its success,” said Luke Fusco,
2007 Campaign Co-chair. “The barbecue is a fun way to say thank you for your past
and future support.”
The Our Community, Our Laurier campaign is the university’s annual
campus campaign which builds support from faculty, staff and retirees. With 356
people participating last year (including 42 new donors), the goal was easily
surpassed by more than $225,000! With this year’s campaign theme of Pick your Passion, the campaign team
hopes to raise the annual participation rate to 500 donors and $350,000 in new
gifts…an ambitious goal.
