Stress Less Fun Fair
Counselling and Health Services are excited to announce the next installment of their bi-annual Stress Less Fun Fair. This semester, we have moved the fair to the RCW lobby in order to make the event larger and more accessible to students. As always, we invite you to stop by for some helpful strategies on managing stress, to meet our therapy dogs and enjoy some popcorn and treats! Also, enjoy a FREE Registered Massage Therapy treatment (first come, first served). The fair will take place on Wednesday March 21st from 9:30-2:30 in RCW! See you there!!

We’ll offer tips on how to select and present relevant qualifications to an employer, whether you’re looking for a summer job or a professional opportunity upon graduation.

Laurier Wants Your Input!
Registrarial Services at Laurier Brantford is completing research on student success and retention. The purpose of this survey is to gain an understanding of what pressures students of Laurier Brantford are faced with, and how students are doing across many areas of student life. Your participation in the survey is voluntary and you may complete the survey anonymously. If you choose to include your student ID number you will be eligible to win a $50 gift card to the Stedman Community Bookstore!
Students who complete all fields of the survey found at the link below will be considered for participation in one or more student focus groups. Participation in the focus groups will be voluntary. Topics of the focus groups will vary depending on aggregate responses to these questions, but will focus around the concept of student success. Students who participate in a student focus group will be eligible to win one of two iPad 2's.

If you are a Laurier Brantford student who applied for and received OSAP funding during the 2011-2012 academic year, you may be eligible for Spring OSAP. Tuesday, March 13: We will be partnering with kids from Big Brothers, Big Sisters and golfing at Putt Hut at 5pm. Putt Hut is located on Lynden Rd.
Wednesday, March 14: Get up bright and early (7:00 am) to attend the Sunrise Rotary Club of Brantford meeting at the Brantford Golf and Country Club and in the evening we will be bowling at Echo Bowl from 7:30-9:30pm
Thursday, March 15: Come out to our General Meeting being held at the Piston Broke at 6pm
Friday, March 16: Come out for a fantastic lunch and entertainment at Rotary Club of Brantford meeting (12:00pm) at the Brantford Golf and Country Club

BACCHUS Alcohol and Drug Awareness Week
A vehicle that has been
involved in an impaired driving incident will be displayed in the Student
Center parking lot from Monday, March 12 to Friday, Mach 16. Be sure to stop by
and see the effects of impaired driving.
There will also be a BBQ in the Student Center parking lot on March 14th from 11-3pm. Hamburgers, hotdogs and vegetarian burgers will be available!

Appointment Booking and Cancellations
Remember, appointments can be booked and cancelled online at http://appointments.mylaurier.ca/
Click on Learning Services to see our available appointments. We are at the point in term where appointment availability is very limited. Please check the on-line booking system regularly if you are looking for an appointment; as soon as a student cancels a booking, that time slot immediately becomes available to others to book. Cancellations require 24 hours minimum notice.
For same day last-minute availabilities, all cancellations are communicated via our Facebook and Twitter pages:
Drop In Hours
Don’t forget that we offer drop-in hours on Mondays from 3 to 5 pm for all students. No appointment is necessary. Students are helped on a first come, first served basis.
We also offer English Language Learner drop-in hours on Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
Enhance Your Writing Style Workshop Series
This three part workshop series will run on Wednesdays at 4 pm in Market Place beginning March 14. It builds upon the writing skills covered in Writing Well, and follows a similar format. Students are encouraged to bring the assignments they are working on to the workshops for feedback. Registration is recommended -- spaces are limited! The Light at the End of the Tunnel: Preparing for Exams.
This workshop will provide students with strategies for studying effectively for both objective and essay style exams. Join us in Market Place on March 28 from 5:00 – 6:00 pm.
