TORONTO – For the first time, Wilfrid Laurier University will participate in Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, an all-night celebration of arts and culture held Sept. 29 in Toronto, from 7:03 p.m. to sunrise. During Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, Laurier’s Toronto office will feature “Spin,” the work of Kitchener-based artist Katrina Jennifer Bedford.
“Spin” is a site-specific, video-based installation that utilizes traditional stop-motion animation techniques and will be visible from the inside and outside of the Laurier Toronto office. The video projection explores the concepts of motion and light – each with very distinctive qualities, yet, when combined together produce a beautiful sensory experience.
Suzanne Luke of the Robert Langen Art Gallery at Laurier’s Waterloo campus curated the exhibit.
Scotiabank Nuit Blanche is a distinctive arts initiative produced by the City of Toronto that has created a greater awareness and appreciation for contemporary art by making projects fun, engaging and accessible to the public.
Scotiabank Nuit Blanche is free of charge and open to the public.
