Registration for Orientation Week 2009 is now Open!

Your Journey Has Begun.

The Possibilities Are Endless.

The best week of your university career is just around the corner and registration is open!

Here are some of the things you can expect if you register for O-Week 2009:

Monday, September 7th:
Residence Move-In Day - Our Orientation Volunteers will welcome you and move you into your residence room.
Opening Ceremonies - A high energy kick-off to the week where you will be introduced to some great people and learn about the week ahead.


Tuesday, September 8th:
Student Success Sessions - Get some great information on how to achieve your academic goals at Laurier.
Regatta Games - Mini-games throughout campus pitting you against another colour team.
Guest Speaker - Andy Thibodeau leads a session with tons of energy and enthusiasm!
On-Campus Celebration - First Year students registered in O-Week get to party in the Turret Nightclub, Wilf’s Restaurant & Bar, and in the Quad with live bands and DJs all night!

Wednesday, September 9th:
Get-Involved Fair - Find information about all clubs, committees and organizations that interest you within the Laurier community
Shinerama Presentation - Hear about Shinerama’s fight to cure Cystic Fibrosis and how you can help!
Movie Night - Enjoy a night on Alumni Field with a double-feature on the big screen.

Thursday, September 10th:
Bingemans - O-Week-registered Golden Hawks get full, exclusive access to Bingemans sports and water park for the day. Enjoy Go-Karts, Batting Cages, Bumper Boats, Water Slides, a Wave Pool, Arcade games, Volleyball, and much more!
Colour Team Auction - A chance to purchase some great items in support of Shinerama
Game Show Night - A throw-back to a childhood favourite game show, with a chance to win great prizes including laptops, tuition, and much more.

Friday, September 11th:
Academic Sessions - Take the chance to meet your Dean, Professors, and Undergraduate advisors while getting an inside look at what is expected of you academically.
Cheer Off/Bling Bling - Colour Teams compete to see who has the best cheers, as well as a competition for Shinerama
Talent Show - A showcase of the talents of the first year students on each Colour Team

Saturday, September 12th:
Shine Day - Students and volunteers go out into the community attempting to raise awareness and money for Shinerama
Closing Ceremonies/O-Week Concert - Closing ceremonies announcing the results of Shine Day, and the winning Colour Team. Stay afterwards for the O-Week Concert featuring METRIC!
