OSAP Loan release – Spring 2012 and Waterloo Student Awards Office Closure

Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing

May 2/12

The Student Awards Office will begin releasing loans to students who have applied for OSAP funding for the 2012 Spring semester on Monday, May 7 at 9 a.m. Loans will be released from the Student Awards Office at 202 Regina Street for students registered at Laurier’s Waterloo campus and at the Service Laurier kiosk in Grand River Hall for students registered at the Brantford campus.

All students:

Students are asked to log into their LORIS account beginning Saturday, May 5 after noon to check the availability of their funding for spring term. If funding is available, students will be required to present the following information to receive their funding:

  1. Social Insurance Card or a notice of assessment from Revenue Canada indicating their name and Social Insurance number. This is a government policy and Student Awards will not be able to release loan documents without this information.
  2. Valid government issued photo ID such as driver’s license or health card (Student One Card is not acceptable).
  3. Be enrolled in the appropriate course load as requested by the student on their OSAP application or spring extension form.
  4. Void cheque or knowledge of your banking information (i.e. branch number, transit and account number) in order for your funds to be deposited to your bank account from the National Student Loan Service Centre or the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (if applicable).
