Dale Zorgdrager awarded Laurier’s Alumni Co-op Employer of Excellence Award

WATERLOO – Laurier business alumnus Dale Zorgdrager (’96) has been named the second annual Alumni Co-op Employer of Excellence, celebrated for his outstanding contribution to the education of dozens of Laurier business students. Zorgdrager is an audit and assurance partner in PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ southwestern Ontario practice.
Presented jointly by Laurier Co-op and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, the Alumni Co-op Employer of Excellence Award recognizes alumni who are consistent, longstanding employers of Laurier students, who provide an unusual degree of training and mentorship to co-op students, and generally demonstrate broadly based interest and support for Laurier’s co-op program.
Zorgdrager has been an active recruiter of both co-op and graduating students. The PricewaterhouseCoopers Waterloo office has employed 30 students in 77 work terms, contributing to the company’s status as the largest single co-op employer in 2011.
"Dale is an exceptional Laurier alum,” said Robert Donelson, vice-president of Development and Alumni Relations. “He has contributed significantly to our co-op education program by overseeing the hiring of hundreds of Laurier students and helping to mentor and guide many of them. He has also volunteered on our School of Business & Economics Dean's Advisory Council. We are very proud of his achievements and grateful for his devotion to Laurier."
“The caring way Dale mentors his co-op students adds a valuable personal component to the many other lessons they learn on the job,” said Bill Banks, acting dean of the School of Business & Economics. “His co-op students return to class fuelled with optimism about the careers they will carve out in the business world.”
