Laurierís Health Services Departments offer flu shots to Laurier community
Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing
According to Laurier Health Services, getting an annual flu shot is the most effective way to protect you and your family from the flu. An Ontario study showed that every year, the flu shot eliminates the need for over 200,000 visits to doctor's offices and 30,000 visits to hospital emergency departments.
The flu shot strengthens your immune system against the three strains of the flu virus. It does this by stimulating your immune system to build up antibodies against the virus, making it stronger so that it's ready to fight off the illness before it starts.
Laurierís Health Services Department, in conjunction with Waterloo Region Public Health, is again hosting on-campus flu clinics for Laurier students, staff and faculty.
Those interested can sign up for an appointment online. If there are no available time slots, the Student Health and Development Centre welcomes walk-ins during clinic times.
