Sep 16/10
Journalist, author and documentary film producer Debi Goodwin will visit Wilfrid Laurier University Sept. 29 to read from her book, Citizens of Nowhere.
The book tells the stories of 11 Somali refugees, starting in an overcrowded refugee camp in Kenya and following their journey to Canada and their eventual enrolment in Canadian universities. Citizens of Nowhere was inspired by an award-winning news documentary that Goodwin produced for CBC television’s The National.
Goodwin will discuss her book and sign copies afterward. This free event will be held in the Maureen Forrester Recital Hall Wednesday, Sept. 29 starting at 7 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Laurier Bookstore and Random House of Canada.
