WATERLOO – Wilfrid Laurier University has again earned high marks in the annual Maclean’s Rankings of Canadian Universities, placing in the top 10 in its category for best overall in Canada.
Laurier improved in numerous key areas, including best overall, highest quality and most innovative.
“The key takeaway from these rankings is that Laurier continues to excel in the most important categories and our students continue to be highly satisfied with the quality of their university experience,” said Deborah MacLatchy, vice-president: academic and provost.
Laurier continues to do well in the comprehensive category, which includes other universities across the country with a “significant degree of research activity and a wide range of programs at the undergraduate and graduate level, including professional programs.”
This year, Laurier improved in its category in total research dollars spent, student services, and scholarships and bursaries, among others.
Compared to other Ontario universities in the comprehensive category, Laurier ranked third for highest quality, fourth for best overall, and fourth for most innovative.
Wilfrid Laurier University has nine faculties and more than 17,000 undergraduate students and nearly 2,000 graduate students at campuses in Waterloo and Brantford. The university also has a Faculty of Social Work in Kitchener, an office in Toronto, a part-time MBA program based in Toronto, and an office in Chongqing, China.
