The Music is for Life Symposium celebrates the possibilities that arise when people come together to share their musical talents, passions and experiences. It will be a chance to share ideas, stories, common challenges and solutions; a dawn to dusk playing opportunity and social event! Bring your horn and join the band!
This six-day event will invigorate the experienced band player and educator, encourage the novice, and provide a safe and supportive community for all levels of musicians to grow. It's a place where all generations will intersect through the common love of band music.
The symposium will focus on community band leadership and participation, educators interested in lifelong music-making connections, and the emerging New Horizons International band movement.
To cap it all off, there is a splendid roster of wonderful bands performing at the symposium: The Central Band of the Canadian Forces, the Intrada Brass, the Wellington Winds, the Composite Community Band, the Bands of New Horizons, the Royal City Big Band and the Slide By Slide Trombone Quartet.
