Asma Bala, Religious Studies Human rights organizations are playing a greater role in today's globalized world, a role that fascinates PhD student Asma Bala. Bala is researching the work of Muslim organizations in Canada and how they are informed by universally- and religiously-based human rights principles, hoping to shed light on their sense of universality, inclusiveness, and their overall contribution to civil society. “I plan to propose ways in which other Canadian organizations can benefit from, work with, and efficiently address social justice concerns."
