Mitra Bhikkhu, Religious Studies Focusing on inter- generational dynamics in religious education, Buddhist monk Mitra Bhikkhu is researching the transmission and transformation of Buddhist tradition in Toronto. After earning degrees in oriental studies and religious studies in Sri Lanka, Bhikkhu came to Laurier to complete his master’s degree in religion and culture and is currently working on his PhD. Through a children’s educational program at the Kitchener-Waterloo Laotian Buddhist Temple, he promotes cultural diversity among different Buddhist ethnic groups in the community.
