Biography

I was born in Hamilton and raised in Grimsby, Ontario. I attended WLU in Waterloo and received my Bachelor of Business Administration (1992) with a focus on Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources.

After graduating, I worked as Assistant Coordinator for the federal government’s university graduate recruitment campaign. In this job, I attended university career fairs and met thousands of students from across the province, many of whom had no idea of what they wanted to do after graduation. It was this experience that started my interested in the field of career development and planning. After working a few years in Human Resources, I decided to return to school to complete a post-degree program in Career Development at Conestoga College (1997).

From 1997-2005, I worked in Waterloo as a self-employed career consultant and trainer in a variety of corporate and non-profit settings. During this time, I assisted people of all ages and stages with career decision making, resume development, and job search. I joined the staff at Laurier Brantford in 2004.
