Academic Background

Dr. Potter is the author of The Bet: Truth in Science, Literature and Everyday Knowledgesand also of The Philosophy of Social Science: New Perspectives. He co-edited After Postmodernism with Jose Lopez. More recently he wrote and published Dystopia: What is to be done? and made a documentary film of the same title. The film can be viewed for free and downloaded for educational purposes from the website He recieved hisPhD from the University of Essex.

Academic Interests: futurology, contemporary and classical social theory, philosophy of social science, sociology of knowledge, critical realism.
