Biography

Dr. Brian F. Smith is a Finance Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University, teaching entrepreneurial finance and valuation courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Brian Smith has 35 finance related articles in refereed journals, a distinguished paper award from the Journal of Finance, as well as a number of refereed chapters of book and monographs. Prior to graduate school, Dr. Smith worked at Price Waterhouse as a Chartered Accountant. He co-founded the Clarica Financial Services Research Centre, a centre dedicated to promoting studies on Canadian Capital markets, and the Laurier Student Investment Fund, a $400,000 investment fund managed by students and supervised by faculty and alumni.
