Biography
Ms. McGill is an Associate Professor in the Policy and Law area of the School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University and adjunct faculty at the Balsillie School of International Affairs. She is a lawyer holding a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from York University. Ms. McGill is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada and was a partner in the firm of Sims Clement Eastman prior to joining Wilfrid Laurier University. Ms McGill is a Deputy Judge of the Ontario Small Claims Court, a division of the Superior Court of Justice and an author of The Law and Business Administration in Canada, 12th and 13th editions. She is an arbitrator and mediator for the Better Business Bureau and has designed and implemented dispute resolution processes for organizations including the Better Business Bureau and Kitchener Small Claims Court. Ms. McGill teaches Business Law in the BBA, MBA and MIPP programs.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Arbitration, Consumer Protection and Access to Justice. In 2012, Professor McGill was awarded a SSHRC Insight Development Grant to study access to justice in small claims court.
