Biography

Peacebuilding, the political economy of development, Latin American politics, international organizations, and hemispheric integration. Dr. Shamsie's current research focuses on peacebuilding efforts in Haiti. She is co-editor (with Ricardo Grinspun) of Whose Canada? Continental Integration, Fortress North America and the Corporate Agenda (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2007). MA supervision in the following areas: inter-American affairs, peacebuilding and reconstruction in failed and fragile states, development assistance to third world countries, Canada-Latin America relations.
