Biography
Academic Interests
I am a francophile interested in most aspects of the culture and history of Modern France. I specialize in the period of the French Revolution (1789-1799) and Napoleon I (1799-1815). I am currently doing research in three principal areas: the Parisian labour movement from 1789 to 1834, the political police under Napoleon I, and the history of sexuality in Modern France.
