Biography
I was born and raised in the Leamington area of south-western Ontario. Early on I became interested in theatrics and public speaking, and in my teens I worked as a part-time newscaster at the local radio station. This experience has proven to be invaluable in my teaching.
I came to Waterloo as a student and after getting my first degree stayed on at WLU. I have taken two major breaks, the first to teach English in Czechoslovakia in 1991, and the second to lecture in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo.
I have three children, Deborah, Tasmin, and Tristan, and many good friends.
