The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others ~Mohandas K. Gandhi

If you are interested in making a difference in the community, this is the website for you! Sign in and learn about the many volunteer opportunities available to Laurier staff, students and faculty, retirees and alumni.

If you aren't sure what you would like to do, or how to have the greatest impact, please contact a Community Service-Learning (CSL) coordinator.

Check Out These Great Volunteer Opportunities:

Interested in volunteering with children and families?

Organizations like the YWCA and Family and Children's Services offer great opportunities to work with kids and support their families. Check out the volunteer opportunities with those organizations and/or contact Shannon at spennington@wlu.ca for more info.

Interested in Volunteering with Seniors?

Community Support Connections, Meals on Wheels and More (www.communitysupportconnections.org) is looking for volunteers for their Friendly Visitor and FABFit programs. Volunteers are matched with a local senior who they visit in their home for companionship and/or to help with an adapted exercise program. Training is provided. Contact Shannon for more info at spennington@wlu.ca

Fluent in Arabic and Interested in Volunteering with Refugees?

Mennonite Coalition for Refugee Support (www.mcrs.ca) helps refugees get settled and find the supports they need to thrive in our community. They are looking for people who can help to translate and transcribe in Arabic. If you are interested, please contact Shannon at spennington@wlu.ca for more info.

When contacting community organizations, please let them know that you are from Laurier, but that you are NOT a Community Service-Learning (CSL) student (many of these organizations have CSL students volunteering with them as well).
