Biography
I am a Developmental Psychologist in the Social Developmental Psychology Program. After finishing my PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and Education in Berlin, Germany, and spending a post-doctoral year at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, I was an Assistant Professor at Humboldt-University at Berlin in Germany. I joined the WLU psychology department in December 2006.
My research interests generally lie in the area of moral development. I am particularly interested in the interplay of cognitive, emotional and personality development as it is related to matters of moral conduct and moral consciousness. Recent research projects focused on moral identity formation in adolescence and the development of moral emotions.
My research has been funded by grants from the German Research Foundation and the Social Science and Humanities Research Council, Canada. I welcome new graduate and honors students to my research lab at WLU.
