Biography
Bina Mehta has been Contract Academic Staff with the Global Studies Department and North American Studies Program at Wilfrid Laurier University since 2005. Her M.A. is from the Frost Centre for Canadian Studies at Trent University, where she examined the exile of the East African Asians to the U.K. and Canada. She holds a B.Ed. from Queen’s University and has a long-standing interest in anti-racist pedagogy and activism. Having taught since 1993 in the university environment, she is keenly interested in the practice of critical thinking/reading and is passionate about her teaching. Bina continues to think about the plight of second-generation Gujarati women in the diaspora. As a woman of colour, Bina combines her academic and activist interests in all her work.
