Dr Wallace is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, and an Adjunct Professor in the Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo.
His principal research interests lie in the evaluation of, and derivation of design guidelines for technologies that support collaborative work. As devices for personal and mobile computing continue to develop, one of the fundamental issues facing designers is how to best incorporate the use personal devices such as smartphones and tablets with that of public devices such as large, shared wall displays and tabletop computers. His research aims to understand how the choice of devices provided to users can impact their social interactions, and through such an understanding, develop improved support for collaborative work.
