Laurier-Industry Internship Program
Laurier has funding available to provide hiring incentives to companies to hire interns
in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
Program objective
- To develop business and
management skills in interns to complement their technical skills
- To provide companies with the
benefit of the technical knowledge of an intern.
Internship information
- The internship period is 6
month.
- Laurier provides up to $15,000
for a graduate student or recent graduate of a master's or doctoral-level, or
up to $10,000 for a recent graduate of an undergraduate program
- The company has to provide a minimum of 50% of the intern’s salary
- The internship must finish
before March 31st, 2014
Eligible interns
- recent graduate (within the last
five years) from a bachelor, master or PhD program in a STEM program – Science,
Technology, Engineering, Mathematics
- Master or PhD candidates in a
STEM program – Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics
Eligible companies
- Small to Medium sized companies
having up to 1000 employees or less
- located in defined geographic
areas of Southern Ontario
- have a commitment to mentoring
the intern throughout the internship
- have an internship opportunity
in the STEM field
