Laurier-Industry Internship Program   

Laurier has funding available to provide hiring incentives to companies to hire interns in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

Program objective

• To develop business and management skills in interns to complement their technical skills
• To provide companies with the benefit of the technical knowledge of an intern.

Internship information

• The internship period is 6 month.
• Laurier provides up to $15,000 for a graduate student or recent graduate of a master's or doctoral-level, or up to $10,000 for a recent graduate of an undergraduate program
• The company has to provide a minimum of 50% of the intern’s salary
• The internship must finish before March 31^st, 2014

Eligible interns

• recent graduate (within the last five years) from a bachelor, master or PhD program in a STEM program – Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics
• Master or PhD candidates in a STEM program – Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics

Eligible companies

• Small to Medium sized companies having up to 1000 employees or less
• located in defined geographic areas of Southern Ontario
• have a commitment to mentoring the intern throughout the internship
• have an internship opportunity in the STEM field
