BBA, Business, Wilfrid Laurier University
I grew up in St. John's Newfoundland on "The Rock" and moved to Waterloo at the age of 12 but I will always have a love for the East Coast. My high school was down the road from Laurier and I had known that I wanted to study business quite early on in my high school years. With Laurier having a strong reputation for its business program and having spent time on campus that showed me how genuinely happy the students were, made my decision to go to Laurier an easy one.
I can honestly say that I loved studying business and the four years at Laurier revealed my passion for Marketing, Social Media and Brand Management. I feel very fortunate to say that I truly enjoy my job as an International Recruiter and that I use the skills I learnt in the business school almost every day.
A few ways I contribute to the International Recruitment and Admission department are through building a social media strategy, conveying Laurier's value proposition though presentations to stakeholders and fielding inquiries from international prospective students from around the globe. Some of my projects I'm most proud of are The My Laurier Diaries video series, running campus wide open houses and my contributions to Laurier's marketing materials.
Outside the office I spend my time doing anything and everything creative including interior design, graphic design, photography, fashion design (I'm very much a DIY junkie). Most of the time you can find me at a café uptown waterloo, working on my new venture project or treasure hunting at my favorite vintage stores uptown. My other obsession is travelling, with the goal to better understand other cultures and how happiness is defined around the world.
