Biography

Roopa earned her undergraduate degrees in Business & Mathematics at Wilfrid Laurier and the University of Waterloo in 2006, and was a Teaching Assistant for BU111 and BU121 in her third and fourth years. She spent two years in Management Consulting at Accenture, where she worked on Process Improvement projects across North America. Roopa earned her Master's in Development Studies at the LSE in 2009, where her research was focused on the effect of schooling on child labour in the Indian context. She has also spent time in India and Colombia working with NGOs focused on children's and women's rights. After pursuing her B.Ed at UofT in 2011, Roopa worked with International Business students at Humber College, and joined the first year business teaching team at Laurier in the Fall of 2011. This academic year, she is teaching both BU111 and BU121.

Roopa's research interests in Education include alternative models of schooling, holistic education, and teacher quality, and within Business, she has a special interest in Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.
