Academic Background

BES, Geography, University of Waterloo

Biography

Although I was born in Sarnia, Ontario I have lived in Waterloo Region for the better part of my life. While I am physically located in Waterloo my heart and soul live in the international realm. I love to travel and learn about new cultures not as a tourist but as one of the locals.

All my life I have had a keen interest in the world around me therefore Geography and History were my favourite subjects in school. I lived in England for four years and eventually returned to Waterloo to earn my Bachelor of Environmental Studies, majoring in Geography from the University of Waterloo. I give credit for my passion for Geography to Mr. Warren Stauch my high school Geography teacher who made learning so much fun and he had a great passion for World Issues. Although he is now retired he still teaches.

After working many years in a variety of vocations, mostly in the hospitality industry, I have found my niche in higher education. Education on issues around the world is key to being instrumental in leaving this world a better place then when we came into it. Knowledge and understanding of how different and how similar we all are improves communication which can one day lead to peace.

Drop in Hours:Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00 am to noon.
