I conduct research on Canadian organizational culture and the ways that institutionalized values and norms affect the collective behaviours and assumptions of members. I am particularly intrigued by how these assumptions influence our international relationships.
I have pursued this interest through my work on the Canadian military and its efforts to integrate and accommodate religious and cultural diversity within the rank and file and in its operational models.
I have also examined the link between institutional values and international relations in development efforts, religious tourism, immigration policy and, most recently, higher education. Currently I'm working on a comparative project between Australian and Canadian approaches to higher education and leadership training for social enterprise.
