The IdM and Email Group is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of Identity Management (IdM), and the main University email systems.

Identity Management deals with individuals (faculty, staff and students), their roles within the University, and the resources they require or have rights to. This includes authentication services and confirmation of access rights based on University developed policies.

Email services include antivirus and antispam gateways to filter incoming email, routing to appropriate email servers and storage of email for client access through either desktop or web-based client software. The IdM and Email group also maintains a set of listserves for the distribution of email to both on and off campus members of the lists.

This group undertakes some infrastructure projects in cooperation with other groups within ITS.
