Biography

Jan Overduin, Professor Emeritus of church music and organ, holds an Honours BA degree in English and German from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a MMus degree from the same university. He also holds a MA in German from the University of Waterloo. Professor Overduin is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian College of Organists and a Fellow of Trinity College of Music of London (England). He condeucted the Menno Singers for eight years and the Mennonite Mass Choir for five years. A prize winner at international organ festivals held in London (Ontario), Bruges (Belgium), and St. Albans (Enlgand), he frequently tours Europe and the USA. Recent recordings include nine recordings with trumpeter Erik Schultz, and three recordings on the enlarged organ at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Kitchener, where he was director of music.
