Biography
Dr. Pfrimmer has served as the Principal-Dean since May 1, 2005. After twenty years working on public policy issues and in the ecumenical/multifaith community, he believes churches are in the process of articulating a new public theology to address a changing context for mission and witness. Diakonia or social ministry is increasingly causing the church to engage globalization, human rights, the ecological future, and political and social questions as profoundly theological as well as social issues.
Dr. Pfrimmer has a keen interest in the area of applied Christian ethics. Among the courses he has developed are Liberation and Development, Church and Society–Organizing for Community Action, Deciding How to Decide–An Introduction to Christian Ethics, and God and Globalization. Some of his recent research has focussed on a history of Canadian ecumenical social justice movements in Canada since World War II, reclaiming the vocation of government and developing a new understanding of the public.
