Biography
Brice Balmer teaches from his experience in community and congregational ministry as well as his academic background in ministry, community development, spirituality and addiction. Over the past ten years, Brice has worked among different faith groups in Waterloo Region and Ontario. He has published many articles in community ministry and authored Meeting Our Multifaith Neighbours, published in 2006. Just as he uses reflection on experience and theory as his primary metaphor, so his classes assist students in reflecting on their own or guests' experiences while engaging with theory.
Brice is adjunct faculty in social work and practical theology at Conrad Grebel University College, Renison College School of Social Work, Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, and Wilfrid Laurier University School of Social Work.
Brice as been chaplaincy director at House of Friendship for the past 23 years and as of January 1, 2008 is working as secretary/coordinator for Interfaith Social Assistance Reform Coalition (ISARC)
