Biography
Richard Windeyer is an audio artist and composer specializing in sound installations, music, and sound design for theatre, multimedia performance, and Web-based projects. While currently Director of the Electronic Music Studio and Instructor of Electro-acoustic music at Wilfrid Laurier University, he is also the sound designer for Bluemouth Inc., a Toronto-based interdisciplinary performance group. Windeyer has worked as a commissioned composer and co-curator for the Open Ears Festival of Music and Sound (Kitchener-Ontario), and in 2000, he was co-Creative Director of Toronto Sound Mosaic, a creative research project exploring and documenting the history of Toronto’s soundscape. While completing a Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Art at Simon Fraser University (1992-95), he was composer and sound designer for RADIX Theatre in Vancouver.
