Growing up in Kitchener, it was always clear to me that I would attend Wilfrid Laurier University. I enjoyed the small campus and family feeling. We were often called, "The high school down the street" from the students what attended University of Waterloo. With the immense growth that Laurier has seen since I attended here as a student, they would be hard-pressed to say the same thing today.

After working a decade in the food services industry, I shifted gears and worked in resource centres as an assistant and career counsellor, helping people make informed decision about job searching, returning to school or opening their own businesses. That work allowed me the opportunity to work at Algonquin College in the Ottawa valley and Acadia University in Nova Scotia. Upon returning to Waterloo, I continued in the career counselling field at Lutherwood, a social profit agency in Waterloo Region. When the opportunity to work at Laurier arose, I jumped at the chance. During my time here, I have worked in the Entrepreneurship centre within the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, was a Facilitator in Learning and Development inthe Human Resources department and am currently the Manager of International Recruitment and Admissions.

It is a truly rewarding and fascinating position to work with such a capable group of people who work diligently to recruit and admit students from all over the world to attend classes at Laurier, and ultimately earn their degree right here in Waterloo or Brantford. The relationships we build with the students and often their families prove to be rewarding and long lasting.
