Biography
Growing up in Kitchener, it was always clear to me that I would attend Wilfrid Laurier University. I enjoyed the small campus and family feeling. We were often called, "The high school down the street" from the students what attended University of Waterloo. With the immense growth that Laurier has seen since I attended here as a student, they would be hard-pressed to say the same thing today.
After working a decade in the food services industry, I shifted gears and
worked in resource centres as an assistant and career counsellor, helping people
make informed decision about job searching, returning to school or opening their
own businesses. That work allowed me the opportunity to work at Algonquin
College in the Ottawa valley and Acadia University in Nova Scotia. Upon
returning to Waterloo, I continued in the career counselling field at
Lutherwood, a social profit agency in Waterloo Region. When the opportunity to
work at Laurier arose, I jumped at the chance. During my time here, I have
worked in the Entrepreneurship centre within the School of Business and
Economics, was a Facilitator in Learning and Development in the Human Resources
department and am currently the Manager of International Recruitment and
Admissions.
