I received my PhD from the Department of Anthropology, University of Toronto in 2003 and then worked under the auspices of a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Anthropology, University of California Berkeley for two years. Subsequently I was a faculty member for two years at the University of Toronto before coming to Wilfrid Laurier. I have also spent several years in Ontario working in both the private and public sectors as a field archaeologist specializing in research involving human skeletal remains.
My research interests are broadly concentrated in bioarchaeology and human biology with specialized teaching and research interests in health and disease in the past. I have examined health related phenomena in archaeological skeletal samples representing the Archaic in the American Southeast, proto-historic and historic periods in the American Northeast, as well as the Neolithic in Anatolia.
