Biography

Prof. Paul Pulford has devoted much of his career to chamber music. A member of the internationally-acclaimed Galliard Ensemble from 1977-82, the Brunswick String Quartet from 1984-89, and the Penderecki String Quartet from 1990-2003, he has toured and recorded extensively throughout Europe and North America. Pulford appears regularly with a number of contemporary and early music ensembles. As a conductor, Pulford has been music director of the Fredericton Chamber Orchestra and the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra. In addition to previous teaching positions at University College, Cork, the Banff Centre, and Acadia University, Pulford has performed frequently as soloist with orchestras and has held several principal cello positions.
In September 2007, Pulford began serving as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Music.
