Biography

I was born in Montreal, Quebec, but moved frequently because of my father's military career. I have lived in two countries other than Canada (U.S.A. and Germany) and by the age of fourteen, I had travelled to 32 countries. Being bilingual in French and English allowed me to attend a French Catholic high school (Nouvelle Alliance) in Barrie, Ontario.

I chose to attend Laurier's Waterloo campus for its reputation as a leader in student involvement.
I knew that I wanted to go to a university where the student body was very engaged and passionate about its institution. While I was at Laurier I got involved in Orientation Week, the Foodbank, intramural sports, Winter Carnival, etc. Laurier gave me the best of both worlds! With approximately 12,000 students, you could never expect to know everyone, but you certainly felt as though you did when walking across the one-city-block-length of our campus.

As an undergraduate student, I first started working for the recruitment office as a student ambassador, giving campus tours and helping with open houses. Upon graduating, I became a Recruitment Officer which meant travelling across Canada to give presentations to high school students. In 2009, I started in International Recruitment, which was a fairly new department at that time. It has been an extremely rewarding experience to see our international recruitment increase by 300% over the past three years.

My current count of countries I have visited: 53
