Dr. Cait teaches in the individuals, families and groups concentration. At Laurier she has taught human development in context, practice with individuals, research methods in social work and an elective in death, dying and bereavement. She enjoys thinking and writing about contemporary psychoanalytic theory, specifically relational theory and intersubjectivity, supervisory practice, bereavement, identity and spirituality and the interplay between subjectivity, practice and research. Her research has focused on adolescent bereavement and identity, an evaluation of an end-of-life care certificate program and mentoring in Aboriginal communities. Dr. Caitís experience in social work practice includes working in a community based adolescent and family couselling agency, inpatient and outpatient psychiatry at a childrenís hospital, working with traditional and non-traditional college-age students individually and in groups and program development: developing a mentor model of practice for prevention programming for interpersonal violence amongst youth.
