Notice from the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies on the Graduate and Professional Student Survey:
Hello everyone,
I'm writing to ask that you take the time to complete the Canadian
Graduate and Professional Student Survey (CGPSS). This survey is
currently being administered at Laurier and other Canadian
universities. Over 125,000 students from 38 institutions Canada-wide
are being contacted to participate in the CGPSS. I know that there
have been quite a few surveys recently, and you are probably getting
tired of answering questions, but this one is very important--it will
help the university identify our strengths as well as issues of concern
that we can work on over the next few years. It also benchmarks us and
our programs relative to others in Canada.
Graduate students
registered for studies in the current academic term were invited
by email (on March 1, 2010, and a second reminder on March 8, 2010) to complete the survey. The survey invitation contains a
unique login code and the external web address for accessing and
completing the CGPSS.
A reminder email will be sent out each week until the end of March. That reminder email will contain the unique log-in access information students require to access the survey. Please watch for that email on Monday evening! Be sure to access your Laurier student e-mail account, as well as your personal e-mail account to which you may be receiving university correspondence.
Participation in the CGPSS is completely voluntary. Analysis of the final survey responses will be kept strictly confidential.
To
thank students who complete the CGPSS, 20 randomly-selected survey
participants will receive a $50 Bookstore gift card. The draw will take
place after the survey closes on April 2nd.
Students who have any questions on the survey are encouraged to contact the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at graduatestudies@wlu.ca, or Wally Pirker at wpirker@wlu.ca.
Thanks!!
PS: 'Tips' for Completing the Survey: We suggest that students copy and paste their login code in the survey entry screen - this will avoid getting locked-out from the survey by making typos. Also, if the internet connection is lost while completing the survey, the data inputted to that point will not be lost. Students will just need to log in again to complete the survey from the point the connection was lost.
