Nanchang Institute of Aeronautical Technology 2+2 Sequential Degree in Computer Science

May 18/06

Wilfrid Laurier University and the Nanchang Institute of Aeronautical Technology (NAIT) signed a partnership agreement establishing the Academic Sequential Mobility Program. This program will create the first 2+2 sequential degree for Laurier’s faculty of science, which allows Chinese students who have completed their first two years at NIAT to finish the last two years of their degree at Laurier's Department of Physics and Computer Science. The Chinese students will graduate with a Laurier bachelor of science degree in Computer Science.

The partnership agreement between Laurier and NIAT allows for joint research activities and the exchange of faculty members. Laurier’s department of physics and computer science will be collaborating with NIAT’s newly established school of software engineering, which has been identified by the Chinese Department of High Education as one of the leading schools of its type in China.

In the photograph, NAIT's vice President Academic Prof. Zhihe Lui and Laurier's president Dr. Robert Rosehart sign the agreement. Looking on are the Dean of NAIT's Faculty of Software Engineering, Prof. Jian Shu,  the director of NAIT International, Ms. Liming Lou, and the Laurier's Associate Dean of Science, Dr. Rick Elliott.
